Nudem Organization for Community Development is a humanitarian, developmental, non-governmental, and non-profit organization dedicated to improving communities, strengthening social cohesion, and supporting women, children, youth, families, and people in need through a human-rights-based approach.

Nudem targets vulnerable groups based on vulnerability criteria, including women, children, persons with disabilities, the elderly, widows, divorced women, female-headed households, migrants, refugees, returnees, and affected host communities.

The Nudem Organization for Community Development was founded on 21st September 2023 by a group of motivated young community activists from both refugee and host communities, who came together with the aim of developing, improving, and empowering communities in Duhok, Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Our Background

This is particularly valuable because NUDEM has a strong community-based history. You can explain that NUDEM grew from ROJ CBO in Domiz 1 and HEVI CBO in Domiz 2, which worked for seven years from 2017–2023 before NUDEM was established.

This gives visitors confidence that NUDEM is not simply a newly established organization—it has years of community experience.
